## The problem: a booklet that is filled in, but rarely read

The booklet follows a person, an animal or a piece of equipment for years. The advice it contains is often ignored.

- **Too much text** The advice is long and in small print.
- **Only one language** Parents, livestock farmers or owners who don't read French miss out.
- **Outdated advice** A new recommendation means reprinting every booklet.
- **Missed appointments** Vaccines, check-ups, servicing: the dates are quickly forgotten.

## One QR code per stage

## How to do it

Start with one stage, then complete the booklet.

1. **Divide** the follow-up into stages: ages, months, services.
2. **Write** a short piece of advice for each stage.
3. **Have** the messages approved by the relevant specialists.
4. **Record** the voice messages in the languages of the people who keep the booklet.
5. **Create** one JeliCard per stage.
6. **Print** the QR codes on the matching pages of the booklet.
7. **Update** as soon as a recommendation changes.

## Obstacles, and how to get past them

- **Not everyone has a smartphone** A relative, a seller or a community relay can scan and play it for them. The printed material still makes sense on its own.
- **Costly data, weak network** Short voice messages, light images, no app to download: the JeliCard opens fast, even with little data.
- **Few people know QR codes** Add the words “Scan to listen” and show the gesture once: after that, everyone knows how.
- **Accuracy of the advice** Each message is approved by the relevant specialists.
- **The booklet lasts for years** The QR code doesn't change: only the content evolves with the recommendations.
- **Confidentiality** Any JeliCard can be read by anyone with the link: it holds general advice, never the data of the person being followed.

## Our tips

- Place each QR code on the page that matches its stage.
- Keep voice messages short: one minute per piece of advice.
- Show how to scan when you hand over the booklet.
- Never put any personal data on the JeliCards.
- Don't forget your business card: your name and a QR code that leads to all your activities.
