Malini scans the QR code in a child health booklet
Record booklet

A booklet that speaks at every stage.

Child health booklet, pregnancy booklet, vaccination card, equipment maintenance log, pupil's school booklet: a QR code in the booklet opens a JeliCard with the advice for each stage, to listen to in your own language.

1The problem: a booklet that is filled in, but rarely read

The booklet follows a person, an animal or a piece of equipment for years. The advice it contains is often ignored.

Too much textThe advice is long and in small print.
Only one languageParents, livestock farmers or owners who don't read French miss out.
Outdated adviceA new recommendation means reprinting every booklet.
Missed appointmentsVaccines, check-ups, servicing: the dates are quickly forgotten.

4How to do it

Start with one stage, then complete the booklet.

  1. Divide the follow-up into stages: ages, months, services.
  2. Write a short piece of advice for each stage.
  3. Have the messages approved by the relevant specialists.
  4. Record the voice messages in the languages of the people who keep the booklet.
  5. Create one JeliCard per stage.
  6. Print the QR codes on the matching pages of the booklet.
  7. Update as soon as a recommendation changes.

5Obstacles, and how to get past them

Not everyone has a smartphoneA relative, a seller or a community relay can scan and play it for them. The printed material still makes sense on its own.
Costly data, weak networkShort voice messages, light images, no app to download: the JeliCard opens fast, even with little data.
Few people know QR codesAdd the words “Scan to listen” and show the gesture once: after that, everyone knows how.
Accuracy of the adviceEach message is approved by the relevant specialists.
The booklet lasts for yearsThe QR code doesn't change: only the content evolves with the recommendations.
ConfidentialityAny JeliCard can be read by anyone with the link: it holds general advice, never the data of the person being followed.

Our tips

  • Place each QR code on the page that matches its stage.
  • Keep voice messages short: one minute per piece of advice.
  • Show how to scan when you hand over the booklet.
  • Never put any personal data on the JeliCards.
  • Don't forget your business card: your name and a QR code that leads to all your activities.
The booklet keeps the record. The JeliCard gives the right advice, at the right time, in the right language.
