1The problem: scattered memories

On a trip, you take hundreds of photos and videos. Back home, everything is scattered and quickly forgotten.

Photos buriedThe pictures stay in the phone, mixed up with everything else.
Story lostThe anecdotes and emotions of the trip are soon forgotten.
Tips scatteredGood places to go get lost in messages.
Loved ones far awayThe family wants to follow the trip, stage by stage.

Your JeliCards travel around the world

A JeliCard is shared in one move: by text message, on social media, by email, on the internet, or simply by scanning the QR code from one phone to another. Your message travels across time and distance, and reaches every audience, here and elsewhere.

?What about Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp?

These tools are excellent, and you probably use them already. Jèli does not replace them: it does a different job.

Instagram and TikTok The networks that help people discover you
Ideal for
showing your news in photos and videos, and reaching new audiences.
Information
lives in a feed: new posts push the old ones down.
Access
mostly needs the app and an account; the algorithm decides who sees what.
Around it
other content and ads are shown too.
WhatsApp The messaging app that gets people talking
Ideal for
everyday conversations, answering questions, running a group.
Information
lives in a conversation: messages pile up and old ones are quickly lost.
Access
means having your number or being in the group.
Around it
are all the person's other conversations.
Jèli The reference page, in the right place
Ideal for
information that must stay available, attached to an object, a poster or a place.
Information
lives on a stable page: always in the same place, always up to date.
Access
takes a simple scan, with no account and no app.
Around it
no ads and no one else's content: only your message and your other JeliCards.

Instagram and TikTok are perfect for sharing your best pictures live, and WhatsApp for sending news. Your Jèli travel journal keeps the whole trip in one folder, stage by stage, with your practical tips, and stays easy to find years later.

It's not one or the other. Put the links to your Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp accounts in the text of your JeliCard, and share your JeliCard on your networks: each tool does what it does best.

4How to do it

Start as soon as you begin planning.

  1. Create a first JeliCard to introduce the trip.
  2. Prepare the itinerary, the paperwork and the packing list.
  3. Share the link with your loved ones before you leave.
  4. Add one JeliCard per stage during the trip, kept in the same folder.
  5. Tell the story with voice messages and short videos.
  6. Write your tips: hotels, restaurants, transport.
  7. Print a QR code in a photo album or on a postcard.

5Obstacles, and how to get past them

Not everyone has a smartphoneA relative, a seller or a community relay can scan and play it for them. The printed material still makes sense on its own.
Costly data, weak networkShort voice messages, light images, no app to download: the JeliCard opens fast, even with little data.
No signal while travellingTake your photos and notes offline, then complete the JeliCard in the evening, on the hotel Wi-Fi.
PrivacyNever publish your address or the dates you are away, and ask permission from the people you photograph.
No time to writeA one-minute voice message a day is enough to tell the essentials.

Our tips

  • Add a JeliCard every evening: it's the best time to tell the story of the day.
  • Note down prices and contacts: they are the most useful tips.
  • Don't publish your address or the dates you are away from home.
  • Ask permission from the people you film or photograph.
  • Don't forget your business card: your name and a QR code that leads to all your activities.
Photos stay in the phone. The JeliCard tells the story of the trip, and guides those who travel after you.
